Youth Literacy
Afterschool Program

Space is limited.
Children receive homework help, enjoy snacks, and participate in fun, engaging activities that support both learning and creativity.

Basic Computer Class
Mondays · 10AM–12PM
In this class you will learn the ins and outs of a computer and how to use it for everyday tasks.
- Turning on a computer, using a mouse and keyboard with confidence
- Creating and organizing files, folders and documents
- Sending email, browsing the internet safely and filling out online forms
- Practice time on our classroom computers — no device required
Basic ELL (English Language Learning)
Tuesdays · 10AM–12PM
Students will learn how to speak and write basic English.
- Everyday vocabulary for work, school, shopping and appointments
- Simple conversation practice with instructors and classmates
- Reading and writing foundations — letters, sounds and short sentences
- Beginner friendly — start with no previous English experience
Advanced ELL
Wednesdays · 10AM–12PM
This class will test your knowledge on everything learned in ELL Basic, as well as your abilities to write and speak in English.
- Longer conversations, presentations and pronunciation work
- Writing paragraphs, letters and workplace communication
- Reading comprehension with real-world documents
- Recommended after completing Basic ELL or with intermediate English
GED (General Education Development)
Tuesdays & Thursdays · 10AM–12PM
Our classes focus on the English and Mathematics portions of the GED test.
- Reading, language and writing preparation for the GED exam
- Mathematics review from fundamentals through algebra basics
- Practice tests and one-on-one instructor support
- Guidance on registering for and scheduling your official GED test
Basic Spanish Class
Saturdays · 10AM–12PM (Zoom + occasional in-person)
Virtual OnlyIn this class you will learn the basics of the Spanish language.
- Core Spanish vocabulary and everyday phrases
- Pronunciation and simple conversation practice
- Reading and writing basics
- Held virtually on Zoom with occasional in-person meetups
